Becoming a mum is a journey like no other. It brings immense joy, love, and moments of pure magic, but it can also feel overwhelming and isolating at times. That’s where we come in. Support for New Mums is here to provide a helping hand, a listening ear, and a shoulder to lean on.

How we support
Our program is designed to assist mums in the last trimester of pregnancy, throughout the first year of their baby’s life, and beyond if needed. Our compassionate volunteers visit you at home each week, providing tailored support to ensure your wellbeing and that of your baby. From sharing a friendly chat over a cup of tea to giving you some much-needed time for yourself, we’re here to make a difference in your life.

FAQ’s
Can I trial a few different volunteers?
We totally understand that not everyone will be the perfect fit. We have a completely confidential process regarding finding you the right volunteer.
Although we don’t encourage ‘trialing’ as such, if you meet a volunteer and you didn’t vibe, please reach out and we will discuss futher.
How consistent does the support have to be? I don't really have a routine.
Once you meet either Deb or a group leader, you can discuss what may work for you. This will help give you a bit more of an idea on what you may need support with, days and time and how often etc.
Once you’re matched with a volunteer, you can chat with them.
Open and honest communication is key! Our volunteers want to help and support you.
I am not struggling but have no family. Can I receive help?
Absolutely!
Being a Mum is hard regardless on wether or not you’re struggling, we all could use some extra support and not having family can make that very hard.

Can a volunteer meet me out or is it all at my house?
It is whatever works for you.
Some Mums and volunteers meet for coffee and then the Mum goes food shopping whilst the volunteer takes the baby for a walk in the pram or to the park.
Others meet at the beach so the Mum can go for a swim/surf.
There are loads of different ways we can support you.
My partner is FIFO, can a volunteer help me fortnightly?
Yep! You can chat to us about what works best for you and we will find you a suitable volunteer who is happy to help out fornightly.
